Glomax® Micaceous Iron Oxide (MIO) Primer

Our high quality protective primers enable users to cover porosity and imperfections on different types of substrate in order to deliver a sealed, even, smooth, and stable foundation for the topcoat. Using the correct primer for the substrate will guarantee the surface coating to have better coating adhesion. That’s because primers create a very strong bond with various surfaces, anchoring the topcoat tightly to the substrate.

Glomax® Micaceous Iron Oxide (MIO) Primer is a high durable protective primer that has properties of excellent barrier anticorrosive protection and intercoat adhesion. Our MIO primer comes in both Two pack epoxy system and the One pack alkyd system. The Two pack epoxy micaceous iron oxide MIO Primer has outstanding corrosion resistance and are recommened for use in severe exposure to the elements and salt water as a primer, undercoat or finish. Where as the One pack alkyd is most suitable to be use for minor, miscellaneous steelwork (except directly onto zinc-coated steel due to the alkyd resin). The MIO pigment offers superior protection compared with other alkyd enamels due to its high percentage of purity (91 to 98%) Ferric Oxide content.
